We have had the pleasure of writing about Asgard Raven in the past, and safe to say it took us right back to the Britpop era, also showcasing a certain elegance and timeless character. Speaking about the project’s previous single ‘For Us All’, we proudly declared it “a record that takes you by surprise”.
Well, Raven’s newest effort ‘Chasing Your Dreams’ is equally hypnotising, doubling down on anthemic guitars and charming, brilliant vocals that have nothing to envy to the Gallagher brothers. Layering galloping drums with fuzzy and heroic guitar solos, Asgard is successful in penning a record that’s fierce and electrifying, looking at tradition with a contemporary outlook.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, Raven explains: “‘Chasing Your Dreams’ explores the ancient Egyptian concept of having your life evaluated prior to entering the afterlife. You’ve made your choices and chased your dreams, but have you lived a good life, and are you leaving a positive legacy or will you have to pay for your mistakes?”
