Red Skies Mourning is the solo musical project of Chris Aleshire, a hugely talented Baltimore-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist we’ve featured several times before. From military service to the stage, Chris’ story of transitioning to music is highly unique – and one we’ve come to appreciate seriously.
I’ve previously mentioned that there’s always an inherent risk in pulling off a successful cover song, and it takes both respect for the original and the courage to innovate. Thankfully, Aleshire courageously seizes that challenge, and offers up his version of Benson Boone’s hit ‘Beautiful Things’.
Released as a way to promote his upcoming album, Chris’ vocal performance absolutely steals the show. Heartfelt, soulful, and full of passion, the artist showcases his magnificent range, turning this cover into a true work of art.
Recorded at Create Music Group Studios in Hollywood, it’s a tune that sets a high bar for Red Skies Mourning’s forthcoming record.
