Close Drive Shares Latest Single ‘Love Me in the Mornin’

The keen reader might remember Philadelphia indie outfit Close Drive; writing about their latest EP ‘Old Daze’ last year, we proudly declared it as having “a little something for everyone to love about it! Rocky, folky, poppy, and ridiculously infectious, each track has a life and soul of its own”. We stand by our words; Close Drive’s artistic outlook is certainly eclectic, playful and nostalgic, always in a fresh and vibrant way.

‘Love Me in the Mornin’ is the group’s latest offering, a single that explores their mellower side. Pivoting slow-tempo indie extravaganza towards meaningful and relatable storytelling, Close Drive manage to craft a record that’s intense, yet measured and elegant. Built on sleazy guitar riffing and collective vocals, ‘Love Me in the Mornin’ showcases once again the American outfit’s musical prowess. As expected!

Speaking about the song, they explain: “It’s accompanied by something bittersweet, as the song says ‘I know autumn’s coming baby, and I need you to come and save me.’ There is this emotion of trying to hold on to the best of times, while accepting the fact that you can’t live in the sun forever.”
