Originally debuting in 2020, the pair has since built a portfolio of strong tracks, including the EP ‘E.1’. Now, the British rockers return with their second release of the year, the catchy and gritty ‘Wanna Be’. In it, you’ll find all the essential elements of the ‘Apple Shakers Sound’. First of all, simplicity: steady drums, intelligible riffing. Energy: every note is played with purpose, fiercely pushing them in front of the listeners. Anthemic lyricism: the duo’s records are made to be sung aloud, perhaps at their gigs or at a party.
Talking about lyricism, ‘Wanna Be’ carries a strong message: be proud of yourself and embrace your strengths as well as your weakness.
