Austin Blyth Shares Melancholic Anthem ‘Vow of Silence’

We took a while to form an opinion on ‘Vow of Silence’. Drenched in retro flair yet quite contemporary, the track seems to defy the concept of time and influences, equally borrowing from retro new wave stylings as it does from modern alt and emo formulas. The result is an electrifying and melancholic anthem that weaves in and out of the space-time continuum, going from hard-hitting, fierce choruses to more obscure and reflective sections.

Guitar tones are a telling tale for Austin Blyth’s bright musicianship. Often fuzzy and distorted, other times cleaner and quite 80s sounding, The Los Angeles-based guitarist and singer manage to put together a production that’s impressive both from a technical standpoint and an artistic one, leaving ample space for lyrical glory and keeping it always approachable from a wide audience perspective.

Speaking about the songwriting work behind ‘Vow of Silence’, Blyth explains: “I believe this song has a powerful message and think with more recognition and ears on it, it could help more people. I just want to inspire people and be an auditory friend for the outcasts and loners struggling with depression and other mental health issues”.
