An empowering, inspiring EP, ‘MOTHER’ seeks to extend a gentle yet firm caress of appreciation to all the women and mothers out there, sharing relatable tales of struggle, hardships and resilience. TE/MO is the talented songstress behind the record, a brave, fierce woman with her fair share of dark moments. Eventually overcoming them all, she’s keen to connect with a like-minded audience, doing so through carefully crafted, nuanced and cathartic musical pieces.
As TE/MO explains: “‘MOTHER’ was certainly my first step in rebuilding after one of my Towers had fallen. It documents a transformation. It began a journey… or perhaps a return to something that had been mine all along”. The record is heavily drenched in its lyricism, making it the main focus of the Chicago-based creative. While the sonic livery is equally hypnotising, built on crepuscular tones, spacious textures and solemn vocal harmonies, TE/MO’s heart-shaking and poignant songwriting is where the magic happens.
