Nelda Shares Meaningful and Collaborative Gem ‘Everything Is Scary’

There are a few different layers we can peel off ‘Everything Is Scary’; there’s the face value of the song, which is soothing, very elegant and gentle. It’s pure sonic goodness, as one might say, a slice of vibrant musical energy wrapping the listeners into cathartic energy and soulful tones. On the next layer, there’s the hidden meaning of the record and the whole aesthetic it stands for.

Penned by London-based songwriter and singer Nelda, ‘Everything Is Scary’ belongs to a collection of collaborative work including fellow foreign songwriters in London. By speaking with them, Nelda realized the shared feeling of voluntary displacement that made their common experience so unique and poignant. Italian songstress Viola Ugolini appears on ‘Everything Is Scary’. Built on pop and jazzy stylings, the single is a worthy appetizer to an ever more promising album.

Speaking about the project, Nelda explains: “The project is about themes that arise from voluntary displacement as felt by other foreign songwriters in London. Each song is a collaboration with a songwriter from a different country who is currently settled in London”.
