A jump into obscurity and spiritual repentance, ‘Veil Lifter’ sounds exactly how you would expect: melancholic, distorted and intricate, a deep dive into human consciousness through a gloomy and compelling hardcore, grunge vehicle. Defined as a “Molotov cocktail” by the band itself, the album offers a summary of what Post Death Soundtrack stand for; safe to say, we love what we hear.
You might often find us writing about pop, but deviating through the tangent keeps us going; appreciating the magnitude of human-made art and the quirky, dark places it can lead to. With ‘Veil Lifter’, you are bound to experience exactly that. An unwavering cascade of gritty distortions, evocative, lamenting vocals and punchy drums, delivered with the utmost charisma by the Vancouver-based rockers.
Speaking about the record, Steve from Post Death Soundtrack explains: “The album is intended, as all my work is, to be completely uncensored, unashamedly dark, raw emotionally, and therefore, cathartic and freeing. It was literally written from deep within the shadows during nearly impossible times. Isolation, depression, addiction, chaos, burned bridges, health failures, and strangely, perseverance and the resilience of the inner witness”.
