It’s exciting to follow the journey of a talented artist, and observe the project flourish through an inspired musical output and a peculiar aesthetic. For instance, Cornwall-based electronica wiz Tomorrow’s Child, constantly delivers timeless pieces at the forefront of electronica. We had already featured him some time ago, with previous record ‘Ruination’. Last week, the English producer returned with a less cerebral, more poignant number, ‘Spectres of Summer’.
It’s a pretty interesting composition. You see, Tomorrow’s Child describes to have used 90’ influences, blended with contemporary genres such as Future and Witch house (yes, Witch house is a thing, you are welcome). Make no mistake though, all those sonic references are molded into a new, personal wall of sound, an endless soundscape whose dynamic intensity will take the listener on a journey into the unknown. The highlights for me are the vocal samples in true classic house/D’n’B style. You might not hear them if you don’t pay attention, but it really gives the track a strong retro flavour.
Overall, ‘Spectres of Summer’ is another mesmerising piece which you should listen to. It is also the third single extracted from the project’s debut album, ‘Beach Ghosts’, releasing later this year. In it, you’ll find all the ethereal aesthetic Tomorrow’s Child has to offer: artistry that deals with personal experiences and our contemporary reality, serving as a processing tool and self-expression outlet.
