Truth is, the Italian outfit is a free spirit, basking on leftfield rock influences with eclecticism and knowledge, eventually settling on what serves his artistry the best. Lately, what served him best is a gloomy and harmonically rich blend of prog-rock and shoegaze with a healthy dark outlook.
‘Through the Embers of Hell’ is what you would describe as an ever-evolving record. If at first, the sonic material is rough and angular, the track soon morphs into a more digestible and catchy gem, also thanks to evocative female vocals and mellower guitars. The chorus is where it all comes together, definitely the most relatable and rewarding bit of the single.
Headed by Italy-based creative Andrej Kralj, A Day in Venice manages once again to widen the cultural expectations around the project, signalling a fertile period for the talented musician and songwriter.
