Well, Ruby Tingle is back. A holistic and nuanced creative, the British songstress already made a strong impression on us with her latest effort ‘Afterlife’, a cathartic tune we proudly described as “cinematic and dramatic energy, a slice of pure unfiltered mystery”. We stand by our words: the project is certainly quirky and unique, a breath of fresh air from the commercial froth we are served daily.
Now, Tingle returns with her latest offering, a punchier and more synthetic single which retains the project’s spacious and misty character. ‘Tropical Heart’ is almost playful, even danceable, if it weren’t for Ruby’s majestic and evocative vocals, wrapping the listeners in solemn and meaningful lyricism. Highly hypnotising, the record widens and extends Tingle’s artistry, both in its lyricism and sonic horizons.
Released via No Such Thing Records, ‘Tropical Heart’ relies heavily on inspiring imagery, as Tingle and the label explain: “The song transports us to a dreamy tropical paradise; a steamy, electronic serenade amongst flamingos and night ferries about love and passion which cannot be suppressed”.
