As the intimate alter-ego of an independent Serbian/Chinese artist, Realma is a musician whose art is deeply personal, experimental, and honest. ‘Down the Railway Spine’ is her brand new single, and it’s a darkly cinematic and pulsating electro-pop experience. Fierce, action-packed, and at times even a little tumultuous, the track showcases a growing and evolving artist who is not afraid to go where the music takes her. Majestic, edgy, and boundary-pushing, ‘Down the Railway Spine’ is a song that’s both electrifying and also reflective, a perfect encapsulation of Realma’s artistry.
“‘Down the Railway Spine’ delves deep into my innermost dystopian moments dealing with PTSD,” says Realma. “The lyrics and music both describe those dark times of mental deterioration, yet there is also a heroic undertone to the track, something undefeated, where I address those pieces of us that remain courageous”.
The musician also worked alongside award-winning animator Mihajlo Dragaš to create a 3D animated music video to accompany the tune. It’s pretty epic and tells the tale of an interstellar racer on a mission to save his sibling. We couldn’t be more proud to share it with you below, and can’t wait to hear from Realma again!
