The keen reader might remember Giack Bazz from last year’s album ‘Just A Little Bit Famous’, a record we defined as “three-dimensional and detailed, offering a rather transformative listening experience”. After a few months of hard behind-the-scene work, Bazz is now back with a series of singles which feel like the start of a brand new chapter, a musical reboot, if you will.
‘The Moon is Painted’ introduces this newly-found energy with charisma and confidence, stepping up its game in terms of production and songwriting. The overall sound is punchier, more nuanced and quite melancholic. Delving into indie and rock territories, Bazz seems to prefer clean and gently fuzzy guitar tones, tight basslines and slow-tempo drum grooves – the perfect choice for his raw, evocative vocals, intense yet controlled and expressive.
‘Funny Days’ follows suit, continuing a journey that has ‘Bedtime Stories For Computers’ as its North Star; a collaborative and long album, the record is expected for July 2024.
