Tracy Eckstrand is a New York-based singer/songwriter and folk-rock artist who released her profound debut EP in September of last year. All six tunes are extremely special in their own right, but today I’d like to introduce you to ‘Come Around’. Standing apart from its brothers and sisters in terms of energy and upbeatness, the song showcases another side to Tracy’s artistry. And it’s yet another side that needs to be applauded!
In stark contrast to its sonic liveliness, ‘Come Around’ was actually penned during one of the toughest times in the artist’s life. From her failing marriage to the passing of her mother, Eckstrand needed to channel her emotional turmoil into something cathartic – and thus – ‘Come Around’ was born! “Who’s gonna come around was really a question I was asking myself during a very tough period in my life,” she says.
Beginning to rack up some pretty decent Spotify numbers, Tracy Eckstrand is a musician who’s definitely worth keeping an eye (and an ear) on this year! She’s already put out a superb new single in the form of ‘Not Too Far Away’, and I have absolutely no doubt she’ll be back again very soon!
