Born and raised in Quebec City, singer/songwriter Sophie Breton recently caught our attention with two dreamy and ethereal singles in the form of ‘Slow Driver’ and ‘Nota Bene’. Both found their way onto our playlists and into our hearts, and the artist now returns with yet another stunner called ‘October’. A laidback and graceful pop song, we are again treated to Sophie’s diaphanous vocals. Floating over a gentle guitar riff, her delicate delivery invites the listener into a world of tender introspection, and one feels grateful to be there.
“‘October’ is about winter blues and seasonal depression,” says Breton. “When your world seems to shift upside down and nothing makes sense”. A theme that will undoubtedly resonate with, sadly, too many out there these days, Sophie skilfully taps into the collective emotions of the human condition.
We’ve fallen pretty hard for this wonderful singer/songwriter. Sophie’s music is bold, genuine, and brave, instantly setting her apart in a sea of musicians seeking to be heard amidst the noise. A true artist in every sense of the word, we eagerly await to hear her upcoming album. Scheduled for release sometime this year, it promises to be something quite special!
Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘October’ on Spotify now:
