I promise you this…’Lovescope’ is an album unlike any you’ve quite heard before. Courtesy of Milton Keynes-based outfit SIR-VERE, an electronica/post-punk act, it’s a record that tests the limits of conventional music genres. Long teased by the band, ‘Lovescope’ features eleven original tunes that take the listener on a whirlwind of experimental soundscapes and rhythms. There are nods of appreciation to heavyweights like The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim, but ultimately, it’s a record that has a life and a soul of its own – and deserves to be treated as such.
The haunting ‘Angel of Death’ begins proceedings, and it’s a trippy, sort of wobbly track that instantly immerses and envelops the listener. The current single ‘Peer Pressure’ then follows with a much more energetic and pulsating beat, expertly showcasing SIR-VERE’s versatile and ever-evolving sonic orbit.
‘Misophonia’ then comes along and contains some of the most incredible bass guitar lines I’ve ever heard, before ‘Bad Guy Kingdom’ captivates the senses with its raw and powerful delivery.
With seven more songs left to explore, I’m going to leave you to your own devices. What I will say, however, is that ‘Lovescope’ is an album that SIR-VERE should be extremely proud of. They’re challenging the norms, and we’re thrilled to join them on every step of the journey!
