The result of enlightened collaborative work, ‘Save Me’ showcases the union of three talented creatives. Stemming from Michael Ellery’s resourceful artistic aura, the record was first conceived as an instrumental; a pretty good one, we’d say. Built over elegant and anthemic tones, the track channels a certain cinematic energy, quite evident in the poignant piano chords and intricate textures. Ellery’s reached out to American vocalists Ty Avery and Jessica Turner, packing the song with empowering lyrical energy.
A simple instrumental instantly transforms into a massive, heart-shaking masterpiece, featuring colossal percussions and orchestral arrangements. Avery leaves his own mark with a sharp and bold rap flow, while Turner commands the listener’s attention during choruses, pivoting her elegant yet powerful vocal tone.
‘Save Me’ explores the difficult choices that individuals and society sometimes have to make to evolve positively. As Ellery explains: “While we learn and grow from generations that have come before us, we are also more aware than ever of the generational trauma we inherit.”
