Wesley David Returns With Fierce New Single ‘Seesaw (Lose Your Own Duel)’

There’s nothing quite like discovering new music that just speaks to you in every way. Whether you relate to the lyrics, are inspired by the instrumentation, or just can’t help but tap along, finding new music that moves you in some capacity is undoubtedly a rewarding feeling — just like how Wesley David’s new single ‘Seesaw (Lose Your Own Duel)’ had me hooked right from the opening bar.

A Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter and touring musician, David studied music at school and later became a touring pianist and singer in California and the Southwest US — but his passion for songwriting was always evident.

‘Seesaw (Lose Your Own Duel),’ the latest song, is David’s sixth single since releasing his first album in 2020, ‘Never Late Than Better.’

Opening with a gritty electric guitar riff and crushing toms, ‘Seesaw (Lose Your Own Duel)’ is a passionate, raw and energising song about ‘fighting against 2 sides of yourself’ — and it certainly packs a punch.

The fast-paced energy doesn’t let up at any point; striking guitars battling for centre stage, expertly mixed heavy drums and percussion, and David’s fierce vocals driving the track forward.

The multi-layered track is an infusion of genres, combining Alt-Rock, Blues and a very ‘musical-theatre-ish’ sounding bridge, resulting in an overall cinematic, powerful, and extremely memorable sound. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to hear it in a film or series sometime soon.

Talking about the song in his own words, David had this to say: “I’m sure we can all relate to feeling like we’re at war with a past pattern in our lives; when you get to the point where you recognise your old limiting beliefs and ideas and can take action towards the person you want to become – even if you don’t totally know who that is yet – to me, that’s real growth.”
