The New York-based creative has been enjoying a newly-found focus on his artistry, embarking on a “science fiction funk rock opera” project that helps the project find a path forward while showcasing mike by name’s contextual artistry.
‘Danger’ is his first release of the new year: couldn’t be further away from its predecessor… leaving kaleidoscopic tones behind, the American songster delves deep into crunchy and fuzzy distortions, embracing fierce and positive hard rock with immense charisma and confidence. mike by name’s vocals follow suit, offering a tone that’s bold and pungent, instantly capturing the listener’s attention.
Elaborating about his opera project – called ‘The Vibe Operator’ – he explains: “Part I of the concert film is available on my website (mikebyname.com) and recently it won best student short at The Santa Maria Music & Film Festival.”
