Herd’s vocals crown the track with charisma and confidence, yet letting transpire a veil of melancholia, a layer of controlled and sombre elegance that fills the song with nuance and meaning.
You see, Herd’s story is one that’s tragic, yet incredibly inspiring when confronted with Alex’s resilience and acceptance. Faced with motor neurone disease (MND/ALS), the British artist finds the strength to share his art with boldness and bravery, expressing feelings of “helplessness and a dream that there is someone or something more out there for me” – as he explains.
