Steve Maddock Debuts with Rocking and Jazzy Single ‘Holy Man’

Released at the beginning of December last year, ‘Holy Man’ is the jazzy and soulful debut track from Vancouver-based musician and vocalist Steve Maddock. An eight-piece strong band joins Steve on the tune, which also features a remarkable guitar solo courtesy of Juno-nominated jazz guitarist Bill Coon. Rich, passionate, and seriously immersive, ‘Holy Man’ showcases Steve’s multi-faceted vocal talents, and leaves no doubt that he possesses the versatility to thrive under any sonic circumstances.

Maddock also teamed up with former arranger and composer Mike Reveley to create ‘Holy Man’ as well as his upcoming album ‘Jack Of All Trades’. “We have all experienced situations where we need support to overcome personal problems,” says Mike, who wrote the song. “All too often these problems are drug and alcohol-related. We all know someone who is struggling with an addiction”.

I must admit, I’ve been taken out of my musical comfort zone a bit with this one. But, to me, that’s the beauty of new music! That feeling of discovering and enjoying something completely fresh that you’ve never heard before! Also, Steve has already dropped the follow-up to ‘Holy Man’ with ‘A Special Kind of Love’, so please excuse me while I dive straight in!
