Tom Minor Returns with ‘Where Do You See Yourself In Five Years?’

Extremely playful and tongue-in-cheek, ‘Where Do You See Yourself In Five Years?’ is a curious slice of musical goodness. Built over luscious saloon rock with plenty of country influences, the track moves with immersive intensity through organic instrumentation and a plethora of vocal harmonies, a perfect pairing for the iconic harmonica contribution by Teaboy Palmer, who also produced the record.

Crowning it all, we find Tom Minor’s vivid vocals, all delivered through his signature gritty and casual tone with a certain ‘speakeasy’ flair, if you will. It’s hypnotising, commanding the listener’s attention with charisma and confidence. Quite a short offering, ‘Where Do You See Yourself In Five Years?’ packs a big punch in just a few stylistic elements, another evidence of Minor’s musical prowess.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, the London-based talent explains: “A job interview to end all job interviews? A doom-and-gloom prophecy for a world running amok? A young person’s guide to balancing between a lifeless life and a hedonistic dead-end street?”
