Another artist who has had a pretty remarkable 2023 is New York-based pianist, composer, and producer Nick Marks. He released his debut single ‘Ride The Dragon’ back in February and has subsequently delivered a steady stream of quality recordings throughout the year. Gaining a reputation for his genre-bending cinematic jazztronica, Nick recently teamed up with renowned Melbourne-based bassist and producer Horatio Luna to completely rework ‘Ride The Dragon’. The result is a rich, funky, and soulful electronic adventure that you wish didn’t have to end!
“I always felt there was infinite potential to flip the song into a whole new direction,” says Nick. “I also knew that Horatio had the chops, vision, and taste to take this into a whole new dimension”. Horatio, known as a founding member of the hip-hop and soul collective 30/70, does just that – and morphs the tune into a captivating symphony of mesmerizing beats and infectious grooves.
