Gentry Blue Deliver Spacey Sonic Masterpiece ‘Collide’

Right. That’s it. I simply have to visit Nashville. A great deal of my favourite tunes this year have come straight out of Music City, and I’m now extremely excited to add ‘Collide’ to that list! Courtesy of the self-proclaimed progressive-witchy-rock act Gentry Blue, ‘Collide’ is a hypnotic, gritty, spacey, alternative-rock adventure. Theatrical and deeply captivating, it’s a song that requires a few listens to be fully understood and sincerely appreciated.

Turning to heavyweights like Rush, Jefferson Airplane, and Fleetwood Mac for inspiration, Gentry Blue have concocted a uniquely raw and retro sound that is unlike any I’ve heard before. A track about the existential angst felt regarding the world coming to an end in billions of years, (so, nothing too heavy then) ‘Collide’ is an interstellar sonic exploration that leaves you pondering.

Formed at Belmont University in 2018, Gentry Blue consists of electric violinist and vocalist Lydia Gentry-DeBonis, guitarist Brendan Gentry-DeBonis, and bass player Sean Jannay. Currently hard at work putting together their debut full-length album, the three-piece band is carving out a name for themselves locally. I’m pretty certain that they’ll be going global anytime soon though! Here’s to many more from Gentry Blue!

Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘Collide’ on Spotify now:
