Wreckless Strangers Share Electrifying Album ‘Orange Sky Dream’

There’s a latent electrifying quality in ‘Orange Sky Dream’, a playful trait that’s very inviting. Quite a relief to be honest – we need a break from today’s complex reality, and Wreckless Strangers offer exactly that. The Californian rock outfit boasts a positive sound, blending rock’n’roll tradition with enlightened Americana lyricism, blues’ poignancy and an overall sense of eclecticism.

Introduced by ‘Break The Line’, the EP is off to a glorious start. An energetic and uplifting gem, the track showcases the depth of instrumentation the project has to offer. Fuzzy guitars, tumultuous drums and long Hammond textures, all drenched in anthemic vocals and heavenly luscious harmonies.  Before you know it, ‘Roses of War’ takes the mood towards more crepuscular and nuanced territories – that’s Wreckless Strangers’ main strength. Mind you: wherever they might wander, you’ll recognize them instantly.

‘Fast Girls’ jumps straight into cheerful country stylings, celebrating once again the band’s musical prowess. Teaming up with renowned producer Dave Way (Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Sheryl Crow, Phoebe Bridgers, Moonalice), the San Francisco-based collective pens a bloody good record. Not pompous, not complicated: just pure, unfiltered energy.
