Charlie Wilde and Peak Park Team Up on ‘Old Love’

We adore it when a collaboration works flawlessly. When the alchemy is right, the final result is extremely rich and nuanced, empowered by the multiple creative minds at play. Take for instance ‘Old Love’; the collaborative works of Australian troubadour Charlie Wilde and eclectic band Peak Park. The record is a slice of folk magic, a listening experience that’s poignant and immensely majestic.

The sonic formula is highly hypnotising. A tapestry of textures and feathery guitars creates a stunning and evocative stream of cinematic goodness, quite akin to the likes of Bon Iver and James Blake, among others. Very contemporary, ‘Old Love’ pivots on the futuristic bucolic nature of alt-folk and folktronica, allowing Wilde to crown it all with luscious and emotional vocals.

A deep, raw and dynamic tone that’s the perfect match for such a powerful record. A tone that inspires fragility and authenticity, themes that go hand-in-hand with the song’s lyricism. As Wilde explains: “A heartfelt tribute to the ups and downs of pursuing a life in music. It serves as a reminder of how pure and enlightening writing and performing music can be.”
