Entering the music scene is not an easy task. People doubt themselves, and the harsh reality of it makes it quite rough to navigate. It helps if you are talented, and Nish Faith certainly is. Stepping into the London pop landscape earlier this year, she was able to instantly showcase her nuanced artistry, by building an immersive, nuanced and emotional brand of electro-pop, stacked with elegance and anthemic energy. ‘Dancefloor at Sea’ was her debut, a summer track that gave us a glimpse of what the project was about.
‘Time’ – Nish’s latest effort – is a definite step up, and it’s clear that the London-based songstress has been evolving into a more mature and complete artistic entity. The record is incredibly fragile, yet heartwarming and inspiring. Sonically, we are treated to an evocative, almost ethereal piano sound, drenched in a myriad of textures and reverbs. Soon enough, the song’s energy grows into a fuzzy, gooey and fierce electronic pop gem. Nish’s vocals are on point, delivered with charisma and gentle kindness.
Nish Faith is certainly on the verge of something greater, especially when taking into account such introspective and personal lyricism. A project worth following.
