Known for his work with Wreckless Strangers, The Go To Hell Man Band, and Marco and the Polos, Mick recently decided to “go it alone” and release five cover songs that make up ‘Purdie’s Dream’. From Steve Winwood and Fleetwood Mac to Cat Stevens and Eagles, Hellman puts his spin on timeless classics with grace and charm. Winwood’s masterpiece ‘Back In The High Life Again’ gets the EP underway, and it’s a beautiful, dynamic, and imaginative reinterpretation. Sweet vocal harmonies add an extra layer of depth, and it’s the perfect start to proceedings.
‘In the City’, an Eagles number that has endured across generations then follows. Once again, Mick’s interpretation breathes new life into the track, and his ability to reinvent classics while still preserving their essence is remarkable to witness.
