Trickshooter Social Club Return with ‘Truck Stop Dangerous’ EP

If I close my eyes while listening to Trickshooter Social Club, what I picture is a bold bunch of rockers on a stage, wearing big sunglasses while engaging in endless guitar riffs. ‘Beautiful’, the first track on their latest EP ‘Truck Stop Dangerous’, is the perfect soundtrack for such a vision, showcasing the gritty and rebellious energy and attitude the band has to offer. Of course, the Chicago-based outfit is in their maturity stage, but frankly, that’s for the better.

Embodying a seminal, vintage brand of rock’n’roll, Trickshooter Social Club manage to evoke a sensation that seemed to be lost to history. Rock is not dead after all, as they so proudly attest. Channelling fuzzy guitars and charming electric pianos, the group balances between Country, Americana and 60s-flavoured rock, with the occasional fiddle and steel guitars appearing from the back benches – check out ‘Lie To Me’.

Describing themselves as a “roots-rock” band, Trickshooter Social Club reiterate their saloon-powered, whisky-blended identity, something that’s quite refreshing nowadays. Speaking about the inspiration behind their songwriting, the group explains: “We tell stories about fiction and legends, the birthplace of the blues, Elvis and proletariat poetry.”
