The Trudy Shares Stunning Gem ‘Every Story Ever Told’

We have really enjoyed ‘Every Story Ever Told’. Embodying a strong vintage pop and folk character, the record feels nostalgic, yet hopeful and cathartic. Built on melodious, evocative vocals and acoustic guitars, the track slowly grows in intensity and lyrical charge, accompanying the listeners through an exploration of human nature and self-reliance. Clocking in at almost five minutes, ‘Every Story Ever Told’ feels charmingly immersive and hypnotising, with a rather repetitive yet meaningful musical theme gently lulling the single towards a euphoric resolution.

Penning such a stunning record, it’s The Trudy, British pop-rock outfit based in London. They have been a long time coming, with the band being originally founded in 1979 by Peter Tagg. Now featuring Mellissa Jo Heathcote, Del Tagg and Peter Tagg, The Trudy seems to have found their creative flair once again, and judging by what we have heard, they have a lot more to give.

Lyrically, ‘Every Story Ever Told’ seeks to praise natural beauty, evoking a mariner looking at the sea with admiration. As the group explain: “Some people call it nirvana, some people call it spirit, some people call it a day at the beach, some call it a gull on the breeze, or a new day on the horizon”.
