A transformative and honest album, ‘Patriotic Songs’ needs to be approached with an open mind, given its religious lyricism and introspective dealings. While it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, the sonic aspect of the record makes it worth it nonetheless. You see, Believe It, It’s Easy manage to build their own unique identity over a series of country and Folk-rock stylings, perfectly fitting the modern flair for everything that’s vintage and retro.
In fact, ‘Patriotic Songs’ feels almost universal in its sonic references, drawing from 50 years of Americana and Country tradition, only to then find a way forward and push the genre’s boundaries. Founded by Zeb Mrowka, Believe It, It’s Easy hail from Connecticut. Active since 2021, the band seems committed to evolving into a legendary outfit.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Mrowka explains: “For you, the listener, I spent two and a half years making our new album ‘Patriotic Songs’. Lyrically, I wanted to explore the idea of religion/Christianity from the perspective of someone raised outside of the church.”
