Jen Hawley Shares Wholesome Record ‘Fragile’

Delving into ‘Fragile’ is like stepping into a treasure-ridden room, a place where one can find hidden musical gems, eclectic and evocative. The album is, in fact, an elegant collection of theatrical pop and charming folk, circled into an organic and sapient instrumental goo, Penned by Maryland-based singer-songwriter Jen Hawley, the record flourishes on her poignant and soothing vocals, nuanced and packed with character. That’s the common trait of the ten tracks featured in ‘Fragile’.

Hawley’s introspective and meaningful lyricism positively characterizes the record, jumping from ballad-style emotional material to more uplifting and colourful tunes. Take ‘Word and Songs’, for instance, a wholesome poignant piano-powered piece – Jen’s vocals are the perfect companion for such enlightened musicianship. ‘Will The Circle Be Unbroken’ explores a more theatrical, sleazy side of the project, showcasing the artistic width enjoyed by the project.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Fragile’, Hawley explains: “It paints ten musical portraits of grief without losing sight of our hopes and longings. The songs reflect not only my journey through the grieving process but also the unique stories of friends, family members and neighbours, who have also gone through their own difficult losses.”
