Discover Zur Schönen Aussicht and Their Eclectic Art

‘Turbo Charged Up’ is what we’d usually define as ‘forward thinking’: a never-heard-before formula containing avant-garde organic electronica and rap vocals. Imagine a stream of wonky, glitchy and ever-modulating beats, perfectly blending with fuzzy and fierce hip-hop stylings. The result is ‘Turbo Charged Up’, a collection of ten immersive jewels penned by German trio Zur Schönen Aussicht. There’s a lot to unpack here, from the eclectic sonic picture, including a frequent saxophone element, to the free-form and malleable structure the song seems to be drenched in.

The collaboration between enlightened creative Jo Wespel aka Beatdenker (guitar, composition, producing, mixing, mastering), Paul Berberich (saxophone) and Flo Lauer (drums), Zur Schönen Aussicht has mastered the art of layering electronic soundscapes on top of real-instruments, making for an almost dystopian and highly mesmerising sonic picture.

Contributing vocalists include German rapper Käptn Peng, US rap legend of the L.A. freestyle fellowship crew Myka 9, and bioluminescent alien rapper Ixa Psyborg from Philadelphia/Berlin, among others. The concentration of artistic talent is strong here, with ‘Turbo Charged Up’ showcasing exactly what happens when talented people get together to make music.
