Liam J. Edwards Sets Himself Free on New EP ‘Unnecessarily Complicated: The Epilogue’

I was first introduced to the emerging Welsh talent Liam J. Edwards earlier this year. They’d just released an electro-pop gem called ‘Better Off‘ and we proudly labelled it “a slice of bright pop goodness”. I am honoured to now share ‘Unnecessarily Complicated: The Epilogue’ with you, Liam’s brand new five-track EP. A labour of love that took the artist two years to construct, it’s an EP that celebrates Liam’s strengths, victories, loves, and losses, all through the lens of a young and creative individual within the LGBTQ+ community.

‘PLEASE’ is the immersive EP opener, and it was Edwards’ vocals that first captured my attention. Full-bodied and theatrical, it comes as no surprise to learn that they are classically trained. It’s a sonically dark yet simultaneously upbeat start to proceedings. ‘rather get high’ then follows, and the piano-led anthem is just magical! Rich, inventive, and deeply evocative, it’s clearly resonating with listeners too, and has already amassed over 54,000 plays on Spotify.

‘Progress’, the aforementioned ‘Better Off’, and ‘Bitter (Love Me Better)’ complete the EP, and each has a story and a life of its own. Ultimately, it’s a record that deserves your undivided attention. I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed!
