Strange Souvenirs Shares Latest Gem ‘Exit’

Clocking in at just under the three-minute mark, ‘Exit’ is an incredibly wholesome and poignant offering, a slow-burn, emotional gem bound to connect with every keen listener out there. It did connect with us: built on an organic, nuanced band-powered arrangement, the song makes its way among mellow pianos, elegant drums, and a plethora of textures and cinematic strings, rising in intensity as the track progresses.

It reminds us of The National, among others. There’s just something incredibly deep and evocative in Strange Souvenirs’ vocals, akin to a vintage Matt Berninger. It’s that deep tone, packed with gravitas and delivered with a firm hand, which helps the song become such a relevant and hypnotising gem.

Emerging from Germany, Strange Souvenirs sees brothers Thomas and Matthias Juhnke taking the project’s lead, with crucial help from producer and collaborator Cameron James Laing. Speaking about ‘Exit’, they explain: “It’s is about regret and release, despair and delight, dancing shoulder to shoulder in darkness and light. We hope you find something in both the dark and bright side of our new song.”
