‘Make It Out Alive’ is the spectacular new single courtesy of Denver-based singer/songwriter Racyne Parker. Channeling the complex soundscape of a Country-Western, Parker merges delicate pedal steel with a haunting cello and intricate acoustic guitar work. Her ominous yet somehow inviting vocal performance is out of this world, and those sweet whistles sprinkled throughout just seal the deal! How she’s managed to make a tune about facing our inner demons, finding closure, and saying farewell to the past sound so joyous, upbeat, and infectious I’ll never quite know. I guess that’s what makes her such a special artist.
“After experiencing a sudden and inexplicable loss, I needed a place to contain the anger,” says Racyne. “I needed a place where the scales were balanced and that place didn’t exist, so that place became ‘Make It Out Alive'”.
‘Make It Out Alive’ could seamlessly sit on a playlist alongside the likes of Kacey Musgraves, Caylee Hammack, or Taylor Swift. In fact, I would argue that it rightfully belongs there! Sure, Parker’s a musician who is still making a name for herself, but with the right backing and a little bit of luck, I truly believe she could be the next big thing! I can’t wait to hear more new music from her!
