We are fairly familiar with Natalie Clark, having featured some of her records in our publication earlier this year. ‘Late Train’ was the last we heard of her, and frankly, we were mightily impressed with the quality of her songwriting. She certainly knows how to deliver pure pop gems. Now, the Scottish-born, Los Angeles-based songstress returns with her latest offering, ‘Freedom’, a single that showcases her evocative and charming vocals once again, next to an upbeat and feel-good modern production.
Built on soul and retro-pop elements, the record is incredibly elegant and infectious, wrapping the listener into empowering and fierce vibes, offering much-needed support in today’s complexity and daily doom and gloom. What’s more, ‘Freedom’ features luscious gospel-style harmonies in it, charging the whole track with radical energy. It all works in making the record a modern pop anthem.
Celebrated by the likes of Richard Branson and Christina Aguilera, Clark seems well on her way to stardom, and judging by what we can hear in ‘Freedom’, her artistry is ready to embrace the next step.
