Tired Cossack Releases Spacious Album ‘I Know, I Guess’

Delving into ‘I Know, I Guess’ means entering Tired Cossack’s kaleidoscopic and meaningful artistic universe, a place where the listener can really connect with the Ukrainian-Canadian’s unique guitar-powered style. Drenched in rock influences, from shoegaze to post-punk, passing from more conventional garage stylings, the record feels like the end of a temporary journey, the end of a stage that’s bound to enrich the project even more. Based in Winnipeg, Canada, Tired Cossack pens a long twelve-track album that greatly showcases everything the project stands for.

We love the spaciousness: packed with a myriad of textures, large guitar sounds and polite electronic soundscapes, ‘I Know, I Guess’ feels magical, almost hypnotising. It all pairs extremely well with Tired Cossack’s deep, charming vocals, managing to feel evocative and soothing at the same time. Of course, fierce punk-rock is still present, giving the record a wider identity.

Describing the lyricism behind the album, Tired Cossack explains: “A world bursting with simultaneous angst and joy – the new album presents scrappy and heavy expressions of fear, aggression, and chaos”.
