Breon S.Y.N.D.E.L Returns with New EP ‘Recovery 2’

The latest EP by Brooklyn-based Breon S.Y.N.D.E.L, ‘Recovery 2’ can be considered a ‘coming of age’ record, at least in the context of its lyrical microcosm. Exploring the aftermath of a breakup and the final realisation that yes, moving on is possible, the EP can be considered a lighter effort in S.Y.N.D.E.L’s artistic output, the result of pain being processed and a hopeful take on future love.

Over three tracks, ‘Recovery 2’ delves into contemporary hip-hop territories, greatly infused with hyperpop sound design and eclectic influences. Not just rap, it’s got a wider scope of action, providing musical material that’s bound to appeal to a large audience. At times melancholic and nostalgic, then quirky and playful, the EP is a pretty enjoyable journey into Breon’s nuanced artistry.

Describing the inspiration behind the record, the American talent explains: “An audio journey meant to represent the feeling of weightlessness associated with shedding a heavy burden, in this case coming out of a stressful relationship and finally officially being over the past. A more mature sound, that only comes after being sad that something ended but finally realizing it’s better to just smile because it happened.”
