Melt Into Cate Hamilton’s Dreamy New Tune ‘Surfer Thing’

‘Surfer Thing’ is the dreamy, psychedelic, and otherworldly new single from Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter and producer Cate Hamilton. With a sound that some have labelled as “cinematic pop”, Cate crafts dramatic and hair-raising music that, as she says, “explores the depths of time, space, and energy dauntlessly”. Somehow powerful yet softly subdued at the same time, ‘Surfer Thing’ showcases Hamilton’s soothing, almost meditative vocals at their very best. Before you know it, four minutes have passed you by, and all you really want to do is put the tune straight back on again!

Influenced by the likes of Kali Uchis, Tame Impala, and Lana Del Rey, Cate saw her 2019 EP ‘Five Shots in the Chamber’ receive wide praise from fans and critics. Tracks like ‘Sick and Tired’, ‘Universe’, and ‘Exist’ clearly resonated with lots of people. Though a very different sonic experience compared to ‘Surfer Thing’, it’s an EP that is definitely worth checking out!

I’ve fallen immensely hard for Hamilton’s latest song. I just love absolutely everything about it! An artist unafraid to follow the music wherever it takes her, I have no doubt that Cate will be around for a long time to come! We can’t wait to hear more!
