Moon Worm Shares Dreamy and Hazy Anthem ‘9 / 10’

‘9 / 10’ is pure escapism; a jump into shoegaze and dreamy indie-pop territories, the record is exactly what a magazine called Mesmerized would like to cover – trust us on that! Penned by North Dakota creative Moon Worm, it embodies all the euphoric sleaze and psychedelic energy manifested so well by the project, the artistic opera of Jack Schaefer. Growing up on a farm, the young creative was able to absorb that fleeting bucolic energy that we find in ‘9 / 10’ – an absolute gem of a track.

Citing Tame Impala, Beach House, M83 and Mac Demarco as his main influences, it’s easy to see where they come to fruition. Spacious guitars, hazy synth textures and bouncy drums, the sonic formula is rich and eclectic, well sustained by Moon Worm’s evocative and ethereal vocals, almost lost in the musical continuum. Delivered with true charisma and anthemic energy, we are confident the single will connect with a wide audience out there.

Delving into the lyricism behind ‘9 / 10’, Moon Worm explains: “It reflects a desire to see the world and have adventures but also the fear of leaving something behind in the process. It’s a way of giving yourself permission to move on to bigger things in life and move on from the past.”
