Stephen Lind Shares Retro Dance Jewel ‘3,2,1’

Packed with charming retro Eurodance flavourings, ‘3,2,1’ is not a complex record, by any means. Offering punchy and fast-paced grooves with bright synthetisers and hyper-pop stylings, the track is the perfect vehicle for Stephen Lind’s emotional and introspective lyricism, carried through evocative vocals laced with a light vocoder and autotune effect. You see, pop is a simple art only on the surface. It is incredibly difficult to find the right balance between catchiness, meaningfulness and freshness, and we feel as if Lind has mastered his craft, allowing him to release material that’s highly affirming and fierce.

Sonically, ‘3,2,1’ has a whole lot of value too. Championing the retro-dance look that seems to be trendy nowadays, the track manages to still feel incredibly modern and contemporary, drawing a parallel between early 2000’ dance music and the hyperpop of our times. The result is a stunning piece of music which we are confident will connect with a wide audience out there.

Produced by Taylor Sparks, ‘3,2,1’ also announces Lind’s longer project in the making, ‘Pity Party. The proudly gay artist, now based in Los Angeles, has a lot of potential, and we’ll be following him closely from now on.
