Chloe Sautereau Returns with Honest Gem ‘Somebody Who’s Not Me’

‘Somebody Who’s Not Me’ is an instantly relatable and accessible offering. In an industry landscape that focuses on complexity and electronic virtuosity, the record embodies a strong ‘less is more’ aesthetic, throwing it back to just acoustic guitars and vocals. It works: Chloé Sautereau pens an absolute jewel, an honest, introspective anthem that feels soothing and poignant, giving the listener something to reflect on.

Her third single to date after having debuted earlier this year, ‘Somebody Who’s Not Me’ is the final evidence of Sautereau’s majestic artistry; she’s here to stay, and we are looking forward to seeing her bloom into a true songwriting powerhouse. The New York-based talent gives the new single a light sonic background, playing her acoustic guitar with a feathery touch and understated energy. It all works towards putting vocals on the centre stage, exhibiting their delicate and fragile tone packed with emotional energy.

Speaking about the lyricism behind the track, Sautereau explains: “Somebody Who’s Not Me’ came to me in a moment of true vulnerability, questioning and introspection. A moment where I felt stuck, unsure where to look, where to go, or if I was capable of what I was after. Of what I am after. So I tried to look within. This song poured out of me, stripped me down in a way that would only let me grow”.
