Vincent J. Rigney Shares Blues Rock Anthem ‘Squeezed to the Bone’

Drenched in old-school blues rock stylings, the track sees Vincent J. Rigney indulge in saturated guitars, gritty solos and groovy yet polite drum grooves, serving the perfect environment for such meaningful and witty storytelling. Hailing from Corby, England, Rigney sings about his own struggles when going from employed to self-employed, describing them with the vivid term ‘Squeezed to the Bone’.

Perhaps the song is a cathartic way to deal with such worrisome memories, and we are confident a lot of listeners out there will relate to it. As Vincent explains: “The track was written about a time when I decided to go from being employed to self-employed, which at the time didn’t quite go to plan and I struggled financially. Singing and songwriting for me is healing in many ways as I like to get things off my chest.”

Clocking in at a relatively short length – just under three minutes – ‘Squeezed to the Bone’ is pretty iconic, in the sense that it’s memorable and catchy, even if blue rock isn’t your usual thing. Although the lyricism is likely to ignite painful memories in some, the playful contour of the instrumental will soothe such negative feelings, making for a unique and enjoyable listening experience.

Look out for Rigney’s upcoming EP ‘Songs From The Water Tower’.
