Alan Wools & Etonika Share Hard-Hitting Version of ‘You’re Not Alone’

Oftentimes, songs adapt to their audience, decade after decade, being dressed in whatever sonic references are most appropriate. Take for instance ‘You’re Not Alone’ – originally performed by the band Olive: it soon took a life on its own in the trance world, thanks to seminal DJ and producer ATB. Now, Ukrainian duo Alan Wools & Etonika set out to continue that very same tradition, by offering a version of the song that retains it in EDM and trance territories, while augmenting its sense of poignancy and nostalgia.

Their first record to date, Wools & Etonika instantly showcase their creative chemistry. Alan’s hypnotising and complex synth lines pair perfectly with Etonika’s evocative, charming vocal tone, capable of evoking a thousand emotions and narrating a hundred storylines. ‘You’re Not Alone’ jumps from intense and long build-up to more minimal, vocal-powered sections, alternating a pace that’s bound to keep listeners on their toes, both at home and in the club.

Speaking about the song, Alan Wools & Etonika explain: “Every person in the world needs to know: you are not alone. We all need support, love and trust. Perhaps that’s why songs like ‘You’re Not Alone’ don’t become obsolete over time and find a response in the hearts of people from different generations.”
