Look, Fordays’ material is perhaps not the freshest, and it definitely benefits from the great rock tradition. But, we’d argue, what matters here is his fierce and meaningful attitude, further expressed in the ability to pen relatable songwriting efforts and intense, guitar-filled instrumentals. If you don’t believe us, just have a look (or a listen) to Micheal’s latest effort, ‘The Mind and Echoes’. A stunning album, it really helps to put his artistry in perspective.
In it, the listener will travel through the great rock tradition, navigating through mellower, lyrical-driven territories, and more intricate, punchy and saturated gems. An eclectic quality that is certainly one of the record’s greater strengths. From the emotional, melancholic bays of ‘F.A.T.A.L’, to the punchy and furious punk-flavored episode in ‘Broken Wings’.
‘Shine a Light’ is rather uplifting and playful, an immediate slice of goodness. ‘Far From Our Lives’ closes the record in modern fashion, featuring moody pop-rock with a catchy and cinematic chorus. A stunning record, to be experienced as a whole.
