There’s also a certain grittiness in his tone, making the track even more nuanced. Emerging from Bristol, the talented newcomer champions a rather eclectic artistry; drawing inspiration from the best pop-rock of the past decades, he manages to write material that feels fresh and unheard of, while still embodying the best British and American tradition.
Following up from ‘Lighters To The Sky’, released earlier this year, ‘Pretty’ is as biting in its sonic qualities as it is in its lyricism. As Chandra explains: “The song drives a message of equality and tolerance, encouraging us all to find the courage to simply be ourselves but also challenge ourselves to re-evaluate what we find ‘pretty’.”
