Penned by New-York-based newcomer Eleanor Kelly, ‘Call My Name’ draws inspiration from the 80s’ darkest corners, exploring darkwave and post-punk in the process.
Built on driving drums, emotional guitar riffs and veiled synth lines, the song provides the perfect framework for Kelly’s vocals, so evocative, intense yet relatable and fragile. What’s more, the track was produced and recorded entirely by Eleanor, in her home studio.
Originally from Belgium and Israel, the talented creative signals her return to the music scene after a rather long hiatus; we are happy to have her back, given the magnitude of her artistry. Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Call My Name’, Kelly explains: “A year ago, I created a few short synth riffs and forgot about them. When I came across them again, I knew exactly how I needed to use them and what sentiment the song would have, all coming together with lyrics I wrote about the end of my relationship.”
