Every now and again, all you really want is a crunchy, energetic, and vibrant indie-rock song. Allow me to introduce you to Petrol, a four-piece act based in Philadelphia that has just released its brand new single ‘Pyle On’. It’s a short little ditty, standing at just one minute and forty-two seconds long, but what it lacks in runtime it more than makes up for in punchiness, attitude, and style. The band waste no time throwing the listener straight into the deep end, with catchy guitar riffs, strong bass work, fast drums, and the distant but powerful vocals of Dallas Scott. “It’s a fun song,” says drummer Daniel Huppman. “And anyone can sing along,” adds bassist John Sepcie III.
Recorded in West Philadelphia at Little Brother Audio, ‘Pyle On’ sees Petrol unleash a fun ode to misplaced anger and self-deprecation. “There are always people in your life who put their own insecurities and misplaced anger on you,” says Dallas. He’s spot on about that!
I can’t quite put my finger on it…But I just love everything about this little upbeat and gritty tune! It’s full of heart and soul, and blood sweat and tears. The boys should be extremely proud to add ‘Pyle On’ to their arsenal, and I can’t wait to hear what they get up to next!
