The talented vocalist has long championed a highly virtuoso and eclectic aesthetic, based on jazz and soulful influences. Now, Violet Greens returns with her latest effort, a groovy and exciting RnB gem, ‘F_in the Rain’.
While its sonic quality is flawless, as always, exploring neo-soul and jazz-infused territories, what really draws our attention is the tracks’ uplifting and playful character, really coming into its own with the accompanying music video. As Violet Greens explains: “The music video for “F_in the Rain” takes a satirical approach, juxtaposing vulnerable and sincere lyrics with a cheesy and comedic backdrop. Due to limited resources, many artists have to resort to creative methods to achieve their desired outcomes.”
Lyrically, the song explores the complexity of empty relationships, especially as a response to a past traumatic experience: “Seeking an emotional trigger, they engage in numerous interpersonal relationships in order to feel again. However, this pattern of seeking emotional connection ultimately leads them closer to the abyss of loneliness.”
